Bare Minerals Bare Escentuals Mineral Makeup

At first, i was a little hesitant to get on the mineral makeup bandwagon, but, Bare Minerals has converted me to a believer.
Its really easy to apply, but takes a little practise in the blending to get it perfect.
I think it would be best applied with the bare minerals blending brush, however, a brush didnt come with the foundation, but were available to purchase separately. I found i had to try an assortment of the brush i already had at home before i found the right brush to get a really good application. I used a clinique makeup powder stubby brush made of natural hair
I purchased my foundation from AMAZON for approz $15, and prices vary.
Myer has them, but they cost $79, so NO THANK YOU!

One of the things i like about the product is you can use it as a concealer with a concealer brush, as well as it being your foundation.
They suggest using a mineral veil on top, and this might be something that would help stop the makeup slightly separating and going into lines around my mouth after a few hours.

Whats the story mineral makeup?

Hi all, wanted to give some tips on other ways to use your mineral makeup, including foundation AND eyeshadow/blusher.

You can mix a little of the powder foundation into your hand to make a concealer if you add a product like Clarins' Beauty flash (the reason i chose beauty flash is that it is safe to use in the eye area, you could just use the Beauty Flash for eyes if you wanted) All you need of the beauty flash is a pearl sized amount, you can apply it with your finger, or a concealer brush. Then set it with the mineral powder.
To make a creamy eyeshadow, do the same thing with beauty flash or a small amount of moisturizer (as long as its one you can use in eye area) then i would set it with a small amount of the mineral eyeshadow. This will make eyeshadow last forever.
Same technique for the blush.
If you had significant skin discoloration, i believe this technique would help cover any marks on the skin, including legs!
You could use beauty flash, eliz arden 18 hour cream, moisturizer, paw paw ointment, or lip gloss (would work well for using the blush mineral on the lips)
Just some little tips.
Please feel free to add yours for mineral makeup.
You can use your finger, a stippling "SKUNK" brush or a concealer brush.

Mineral makeup can be used by any skin type. However, in my opinion, you would like it better if you have a oilier skin type.
TO get it looking really flawless, you have to look after your skin. So i would recommend using an exfoliator if you are a bit dry to remove skin flakes, then moisturize. After a few minutes when your skin has absorbed the moisturizer, apply the mineral makeup. There are heaps of brands.
Remember if you chose a makeup without preservatives, it wont last as long as normal makeup. I guess you need to try a few different ones, to see what suits you the best. Also remember they tend to be a bit yellow based, so try a few shades to match your skin.

Dry Method (for everyday to heavy wear)
In order for mineral make-up to work the best you need to “warm it up” To do this put a small amount of the make-up in the lid of the container then use your brush (I recommend Kabuki or a thick synthetic brush.) You need to swirl it around and around so that the particles “warm”. Once you do this you can start to apply your make up. Light downward strokes work best, but do what feels comfortable to you. You need to repeat the swirling if you need more make-up. The swirling or “Warming” makes the make-up apply totally differently to if you don’t swirl. It also makes it longer wearing and gives better coverage

Water method (heavier wear)
Lightly dampen a make-up sponge (Make sure there is no excess water) Then dip into your mineral make-up (Put a small amount in the lid otherwise you will wreck or use too much) Apply in a dabbing motion keep going till make-up is smooth. I suggest using a tissue on your face afterward to get rid of any excess make-up or sponge marks. I just pat my face with a tissue for flawless look. (this method can apply quite heavily however you will find it will last all day or all night whatever the case may be.)

Moisturizer method (light coverage)
Mix with your favorite moisturizer for a fresh tinted look. Obviously the more foundation you use the heavier the coverage.

To freshen up your make up through the day pat face with tissue.

If you use a mineral makeup without preservatives, they need to be used up in about 3-6 months. Wash your applicators too.
